An Exceptional Artisanal Japanese Whisky from the Chichibu Distillery
Ichiro's Malt & Grain: The Excellence of Artisanal Japanese Whisky
Founded in 2007 by Ichiro Akuto, heir to a lineage of 21 generations of alcohol producers, Ichiro's Malt & Grain stands as a benchmark of quality among the great Japanese whiskies. Located in the mountains of Chichibu (Saitama Prefecture), this revolutionary distillery uses Mizunara Japanese oak washbacks and two Forsyth's stills.
Wine Wood Reserve: An Exceptional Blend
The Wine Wood Reserve perfectly illustrates Ichiro Akuto's mastery in the art of Blend. This expression takes advantage of the distillery's cutting-edge equipment, notably its two custom stills made by Forsyth's in Scotland, which began operating in February 2008. The Chichibu distillery, originally the smallest and most confidential in Japan, became the first Japanese single malt distillery since Hakushu. This expression benefits from Ichiro Akuto's unique expertise, who managed to preserve and enhance the last stocks from the closed distilleries of Karuizawa, Kawasaki and Hanyu, thus creating Blends of exceptional rarity sought after by connoisseurs worldwide.
