Sugar Cane’s Terroir of Origin
The Ron Zacapa distillery oversees a volcanic-soil terroir in Guatemala, rich in minerals and crossed by numerous rivers. This terroir, ideal for sugar cane cultivation, owes its uniqueness to the aromatic depth it imparts during the production of these rums, acclaimed by the most discerning connoisseurs.
A rum showcasing the art of Blend and aging
Ron Zacapa’s XO rum is the result of a rigorous selection of very high-quality rums, blended and then aged in a Solera system.
Lorena Vásquez, the illustrious Master Distiller of Ron Zacapa, grants these prestigious spirits, at the end of the Blend, two additional years of maturation in former French Cognac XO oak casks. This specific aging endows this Guatemalan rum with harmony as well as an aromatic signature perfectly balanced between sweetness, spice and fruit.

Tasting
Color
The color reveals a delicate dark mahogany hue, adorned with reddish highlights.
Nose
Complex and balanced, the nose opens with fragrances of dried fruits and cocoa. As it aerates, the bouquet becomes more complex. Oak, burnt caramel, roasted nuts, almond paste, and orange peel are all notes that harmoniously mingle with a refreshing fruity hint.
Palate
A generous attack precedes a lively and refreshing palate. Savory aromas of almond, vanilla, fruit, spices, date, and prune extend to a persistent, silky-smooth finish.
