A tropical, fruity single malt from Orkney with rare complexity
Scapa, a historic distillery of the Orkney Islands
Founded in 1885 on the island of Orkney, Scapa is one of two Orkney distilleries producing Scotch whisky. Owned by the Pernod Ricard group since 2005, the distillery historically used a Lomond still, later modified. Facing the sea, Scapa benefits from a unique maritime environment that shapes its fruity, delicate character. The distillery favors first-fill American oak casks, imparting characteristic tropical and vanilla notes to its single malts. Scapa embodies the authenticity of Scottish island whiskies with a preserved artisanal approach.
Scapa 21 Years Old, a showcase of patience and rare expertise
The extended maturation over 21 years in first-fill American oak casks allows the distillate of this Scotch whisky to develop a broad, fruity aromatic palette, with honeyed and vanilla nuances characteristic of Scapa. The distillery employs a long fermentation, around 160 hours, which promotes the expression of clear, complex fruity notes. Presented in a 700 ml format, Scapa 21 Years Old is aimed at lovers of elegant island single malts seeking a mature and balanced expression, true to the House’s style.
