Palate
The remarkably smooth and creamy texture envelops the palate with an abundance of orchard fruits accompanied by a vanilla sweetness. A subtle peat smoke enlivens the whole, adding depth and character. The length is marked by a fruity and mellow persistence, featuring the characteristic sweetness of bourbon casks. Sherry-like tannins are accompanied by woody and vanilla nuances, creating a bright and refined finish.

An exceptional Japanese cask strength single malt from the Yuza distillery
The Yuza distillery: artisanal excellence in Japanese whisky
Founded in 2018 in the Yamagata region overlooking the Sea of Japan, the Yuza distillery perfectly embodies the TLAS philosophy (Tiny, Lovely, Authentic and Supreme). This Japanese whisky micro-distillery harnesses the pure waters of Mount Chōkai and the fresh air of its coastal region to create exceptional single malts. Independently owned and run according to Japanese artisanal principles, Yuza stands out for its confidential production and authentic approach. Its whiskies reveal complex fruity profiles, combining Asian citrus notes and subtle peaty smoke, reflecting the excellence of contemporary Japanese distillation.
The Cask Strength Second Edition, an exceptional limited edition
Produced from the single malts carefully selected from the first distillation season, from February to July 2019, this 3-year-old whisky benefited from maturation in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels, imparting complexity and depth to its aromatic profile.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 62% alcohol by volume, this single malt Japanese preserves all its authenticity thanks to the absence of chill filtration and added coloring. The distillery takes advantage of pure spring water from the snowmelt of Mount Chōkai, located in a region renowned for the autumnal fertility of its fruit orchards. Released in October 2022, this Cask Strength Second Edition testifies to the excellence of the young Yuza distillery and its commitment to quality.
