Tasting notes
Colour
This red wine from France reveals a medium ruby hue, with a beautiful brightness characteristic of its youth.
Nose
Particularly expressive, the aromatic bouquet releases intense notes of black fruits, such as blackcurrant and blueberry. On aeration, delicate spicy touches reminiscent of white pepper add further complexity.
Palate
The attack offers a very pleasant texture, supported by lovely tension and perfectly integrated acidity. The tannins are silky and remarkably delicate. The mid-palate reveals a beautiful fruity concentration, with no heaviness whatsoever, while the persistent finish lingers on subtle mineral and herbaceous nuances.
Food and wine pairing
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with flavourful fish such as salmon or trout, as well as with roasted poultry, duck or squab. It will also go very well with beef tartare, charcuterie boards or soft-ripened cheeses such as Beaufort.

The harmonious expression of two Burgundy terroirs
The estate
Although the family's winemaking history dates back to 1720, Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair was officially established in 2001 under the leadership of Thibault Liger-Belair, its current owner. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy, the estate spans prestigious appellations and has expanded with a vineyard in Beaujolais. Deeply committed to respecting its terroirs, the domaine stands out for its pioneering approach to biodynamic farming and its eco-friendly facilities. The winemaker crafts authentic wines that reflect a philosophy in which listening to nature takes precedence over technical intervention.
The vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from two distinct terroirs. The Gamay comes from the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, characterised by soils rich in minerals, granite and quartz. The Pinot Noir, meanwhile, comes from plots located in Burgundy and the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The entire vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, with soil work carried out using a draft horse to avoid soil compaction, and yields rigorously controlled to ensure optimal grape quality.
The vintage
2022 stands out for its particularly favourable weather conditions. Following a mild, dry winter that encouraged early budbreak, the vineyard experienced a slight frost episode in April, with limited consequences. The summer season brought warm temperatures, balanced by welcome rainfall in mid-August. These ideal conditions allowed for perfect ripening and impeccable grape health, resulting in an early and generous harvest.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are hand-harvested with a rigorous sorting process. For this Bourgogne Gamay "Les 2 Terres" 2022, the winemaking process incorporates 30% whole clusters, with the remainder destemmed. Fermentation lasts around three weeks with a very gentle extraction to preserve the delicacy of the aromas. The wine is then aged for 12 months in used oak barrels, the wood for which was personally selected by the winemaker and air-dried for three years, thus avoiding the use of new oak.
Grape varieties
This wine is a blend of 85% Gamay and 15% Pinot Noir.
