Description
An elegant white wine from the Rhône Valley with a rich aromatic profile
The estate
Built in the 16th century, Château de Beaucastel was taken over at the beginning of the 20th century by Pierre Tramier. His son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, breathed new life into the estate, while Jacques Perrin expanded its reputation beyond national borders. Today, Jacques Perrin’s sons and grandsons continue this family estate’s pursuit of excellence, ranking among the finest names in Rhône Valley wines.
The vineyard
Château de Beaucastel cultivates a 110-hectare single-block vineyard located in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Converted to organic farming since the 1960s, the vines thrive on soils with surface pebbles and layers of clay, sand, and limestone deeper down. Seven hectares are dedicated to producing white wines.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest followed by a rigorous sorting of the bunches. The grapes are picked in small crates and then undergo pneumatic pressing. After settling, fermentation takes place partly in oak barrels (30%) and in stainless steel tanks (70%). Aging continues for eight months, with the same split between barrels and tanks. Bottling after eight months.
Grape variety
Château de Beaucastel’s 2024 Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is 100% Roussanne.
