A great full-bodied, generous white wine

The estate

Established between the 9th and 11th centuries by Benedictine monks, the wine estate of Château de Fosse-Sèche was for a long time an ecclesiastical property. In 1998, Guillaume Pire, driven by a passion for wine and a strong environmental commitment, took over the reins of the estate with the ambition of creating distinctive Loire wines that faithfully reflect the richness of their terroir. In 2010, he was joined by his twin brother Adrien, who shares the same vision.

The estate spans 15 hectares of vines farmed organically and biodynamically on a rare soil composed of flint and iron oxide. This terroir benefits from a cool, windy climate, ideal for crafting great Loire wines. Alongside their wives, Guillaume and Adrien Pire are fully committed to a strong environmental approach: one third of the land is devoted to vines, while the remaining two thirds are dedicated to preserving biodiversity.
