Château Peyrabon 2002

Light, with a touch of green underripeness on the nose, although the palate is sweet. Tannins intrude on the finish. (JR)

Very bright ruby, broad rim on the outside. Slim, delicate bouquet with a touch of lingonberry. A slender, honest palate, but lacking concentration, with sour extract notes on the finish.

Beautiful bright red color. Dark. Fruity nose. Still a bit of brett. On the palate, lovely, fairly vibrant fruit and volume. It isn’t complex but it’s good. Normal length.

Under the ownership of Patrick Bernard (whose family also owns Domaine de Chevalier in the Graves), this estate produces good, solid wines. Maybe this 2002 lacks great depth, but it has pleasant spice and wood flavors to go along with the ripe fruit. Drink soon.
