Description
The precision and density of a fine red wine from Margaux
The estate
Owned by the Miailhe family for over 160 years, Château Siran is one of the most iconic references of the Margaux appellation. Château Siran was already renowned for the quality of its wines in the 18th century.
The vineyard
Located in the Margaux appellation, Château Siran reigns over a 25-hectare vineyard with a superb setting in gravel and pebble soils. The vines are planted on outcroppings of old alluvial soils, covered with fine clayey gravel. The vineyard is managed with sustainable viticulture and without chemical herbicides.
The winemaking
Plot selection, fermentation in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks from 60 to 180 hl, pumping over, racking according to the batches, maceration at 28-30 °, fermentation for 18 to 24 days, malolactic fermentation partly in barrels.
The blend
Merlot (47%), cabernet sauvignon (45%), petit verdot (7%) et cabernet franc (1%).
The tasting
Tasted en primeur, the Château Siran 2019 has all the qualities of a great Margaux, combining precision and density.
