The richness and elegance of a Burgundy Premier Cru
The estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Louis Latour remains an independent family-owned estate led since 1999 by Louis-Fabrice Latour, representing the 11th generation. The largest owner of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or with emblematic parcels such as Corton and Chevalier-Montrachet, this Burgundian house extends across the Côte d'Or, Chablis and Beaujolais. Its uniqueness lies in a strategy focused exclusively on Burgundy expansion and maintaining accessible prices despite exceptional land appreciation.
The vineyard
The climat "Les Chatelots" takes its name from the Latin "Castellum" meaning water reservoir. Located within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, this limestone terroir spans a village in the Côte de Nuits with 180 hectares of vines and 24 Premiers Crus. The clay-limestone soils lend the wines a delicately perfumed and harmonious signature, characteristic of this renowned appellation.
Winemaking and aging
Traditional vinification in open vats with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 40% new oak and a medium toast, allowing the wine to develop complexity while preserving the expression of its terroir.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
