The richness and expression of a Premier Cru from Burgundy
The estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the Louis Latour House remains an independent family estate, run since 1999 by Louis-Fabrice Latour, the 11th generation. The largest owner of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or with emblematic plots such as Corton and Chevalier-Montrachet, this Burgundian house spans the Côte d'Or, Chablis, and Beaujolais. Its uniqueness lies in an expansion strategy focused exclusively on Burgundy and maintaining accessible prices despite exceptional land value appreciation.
The vineyard
The "Les Chatelots" climat takes its name from the Latin "Castellum," meaning water reservoir. Located in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, this limestone terroir extends over a village in the Côte de Nuits with 180 hectares of vines and 24 Premiers Crus. The clay-limestone soils lend the wines a delicately perfumed, harmonious signature, characteristic of this renowned appellation.
Winemaking and aging
Traditional vinification in open vats with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 40% new oak and a medium toast, allowing the wine to develop complexity while preserving the terroir’s expression.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
