The 2002 Amour de Deutz Brut Millésime is precise and very well defined on the noble and intense nose, which indicates a gorgeous maturity. On the palate, this prestige cuvée shows great purity, lightness and finesse combined with impressive intensity, complexity and tension. The persistent finish of the exceptional 2002 is nicely bitter and displays stimulatingly fresh lemon flavors. I also tasted the 1999, which displayed vegetal and earthy aromas on the nose, and was very matured and maybe a bit too austere.

Dense and compact, very tightly wound, Amour de Deutz 2002 shows impressive length and is built for long aging.

Description

The Amour de Deutz cuvée is synonymous of charm, harmony and purity and is only created during vintages judged as exceptional. It is particularly appreciated for its flavour, its balance and its enchanting aromatic expression. Its clear golden robe is sprinkled with subtle bronze glints. On the nose, this Champagne bouquet is pure on delicate notes of citrus fruit, brioche, on nervous minerals. On the palate, the attack is gracious and heady. Even if this 2002 Amour de Deutz is still young, it perfectly expresses the noble specifics of the Grand Crus Chardonnays of the historical Champagne Region.
