The bouquet proves complex and richly nuanced, exhaling aromas of ripe cherry and wild strawberry. It is enriched with spicy notes reminiscent of clove, intimately intertwined with subtle earthy and undergrowth touches.

Palate
Precise and endowed with great finesse, the palate offers a delicate texture, free of any heaviness. It stands out with perceptible floral notes and a beautiful balance, supported by mineral freshness and smooth tannins.

Food and wine pairing

This red wine pairs harmoniously with dishes in sauce, savoury vegetable tarts or seasonal soups such as a pumpkin or mushroom velouté. It also goes wonderfully with poultry, such as roast chicken, quail or duck pan-fried with herbs and shallots.

The elegance and minerality of a great Burgundy wine

The estate

Founded in 1859 by Jean-Édouard Dupard, the Jean Chartron estate is a historic institution located in the heart of Burgundy, in Puligny-Montrachet. Spanning a 14.50-hectare vineyard, the estate is now run by the fifth generation, embodied by Jean-Michel and Anne-Laure Chartron. Combining deep respect for family heritage with a modern, environmentally conscious vision, the estate distinguishes itself through its constant pursuit of qualitative improvement and its meticulous plot-by-plot approach, showcasing exceptional terroirs.

The vineyard

This Burgundy wine comes from plots located at an altitude of 353 metres, benefiting from a microclimate sheltered from northern winds. The vines thrive on rich and complex soils, composed of limestone, clay and siliceous sands, offering excellent drainage and giving the wine a lovely mineral tension. The estate favours environmentally friendly viticulture, with no chemical herbicides, entirely manual harvesting followed by rigorous sorting.

The vintage

The year 2024 proved challenging due to difficult weather conditions and high summer temperatures. However, the altitude of the plots and their excellent exposure helped preserve a beautiful freshness and protect the growing cycle, leading the grapes to optimal phenolic ripeness despite the climatic challenges.

Winemaking and aging

The winemaking of the Bourgogne Pinot Noir "Cuvée Eugénie Dupard" 2024 begins with alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats, encouraging gentle micro-oxygenation. Extraction is carried out exclusively through pump-overs, with an extended maceration period of three weeks to increase density. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 25% of which are new, before bottling without harsh filtration in order to preserve all its vitality.
