The Authentic Expression of the Savigny-Lès-Beaune Terroir by a Historic Estate
The Estate
Founded in 1879 at the heart of Burgundy, the house of Remoissenet Père et Fils is a historic institution located beneath the medieval ramparts of Beaune. Acquired in the early 2000s, the estate is now led by Edward Milstein, representing the New York-based owners Eddy and Howard Milstein. The domaine oversees a 40-hectare vineyard spread across some of the region's most prestigious appellations. Renowned for its centuries-old cellars housing an exceptional collection of old vintages, this producer brilliantly combines traditional heritage with qualitative renewal under the technical direction of Claudie Jobard.
The Vineyard
This red wine comes from the Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation, a major terroir of the Côte de Beaune where the vines flourish at altitudes ranging between 250 and 400 metres. The plots lie on lower slopes composed of alluvial deposits from the Rhoin river, offering a rich mineral and organic character. The estate favours an environmentally respectful approach through sustainable and certified organic farming, combined with low yields and hand-harvesting to ensure the excellence of the grapes.
Winemaking and Aging
The making of the Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2023 is based on a philosophy of absolute fruit preservation. The berries are handled with extreme care to maintain the integrity of the skins and avoid any premature oxidation of the juice. This rigorous management during winemaking preserves all the aromatic finesse and authentic expression of the grape variety, resulting in a concentrated wine that remains true to its terroir of origin.
Grape Variety
100% Pinot Noir.
