Description
Tasting notes and serving recommendations for the Tinus Syrah 2024 from Château des Tourettes
Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a beautiful ruby hue.
Nose
The bouquet reveals great freshness through delicate floral notes and aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, subtly enhanced by peppery spices.
Palate
The palate charms with its silky texture and remarkably fine tannins. The whole is carried by vibrant acidity that provides a striking core of freshness, ensuring perfect balance.
Serving and cellaring
Designed as a true pleasure wine, this 2024 vintage is best enjoyed in its youth to fully appreciate its easy-drinking profile and its bright, fruit-forward character on a daily basis.
Food and wine pairings
Highly versatile, this red wine pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, such as shawarma-style lamb. It also complements Mediterranean cuisine flavored with thyme and rosemary, as well as lighter dishes such as roasted poultry, lightly smoked fish, or spiced dishes.
The distinctive expression of a high-altitude Syrah by Château des Tourettes
The estate
Acquired in 1997 by the Belgian couple Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen, the current owners, the Château des Tourettes is located in the Luberon, in the south of France. Renowned for their work in Burgundy, they have applied their exacting philosophy to this Provençal terroir. Today, supported by their daughter Marie and winemaker Julien Desplans, they oversee this estate of around fifteen hectares. The property stands out for its artisanal, Burgundy-inspired methods, crafting wines of exceptional freshness.
The vineyard
Reaching an altitude of 420 meters, the vineyard benefits from a cool microclimate that promotes slow berry ripening. The vines, derived from massal selection, thrive on limestone-rich soils that bring a fine mineral tension. The estate’s atypical grape composition and the winemaker’s desire for freedom explain the classification of this cuvée as Vin de France. Vineyard work and harvesting are carried out exclusively by hand, through successive sorting, with no mechanical intervention.
Winemaking and aging
Crafted with Burgundian precision, this wine is aged in concrete tanks. This technical choice preserves the brightness of the fruit aromas and the wine’s natural freshness, without seeking the complexity imparted by oak.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from Syrah.
