Description

Characteristics and tasting notes for Château Minuty 281 2025

Tasting

Colour

With a pale rosé hue and crystalline highlights, this wine displays remarkable translucency and exemplary brilliance.

Nose

The nose reveals an explosion of white-fleshed fruits, notably white peach and pear, accompanied by citrus notes such as pink grapefruit and lemon zest. As the wine opens up, exotic fruit aromas gradually emerge, evoking passion fruit and pomegranate. The whole is enhanced by an iodised minerality and saline touches reminiscent of sea air, along with stony nuances characteristic of the schist-limestone terroir.

Palate

On the palate, the Château Minuty 281 2025 unfolds a creamy texture balanced by profound minerality. Red and blue fruits, such as strawberry, raspberry and blueberry, intertwine with herbaceous notes of juniper and thyme. Vibrant citrus acidity brings dynamic freshness, while the salinity lends a remarkable vertical tension. The finish lingers with elegance, revealing an impressive length and density that attest to the exceptional character of this cuvée.

Food and wine pairing

Château Minuty 281 2025 pairs beautifully with seafood and shellfish, notably raw oysters, prawns and langoustines grilled with lemon and herbs, or lobster. It also elegantly accompanies delicate white fish simply grilled, sushi and raw fish preparations, as well as composed salads with fresh fruit and goat cheese. This exceptional rosé also makes a remarkable aperitif.

Service and storage

Château Minuty 281 2025 is best enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius. This cuvée has exceptional aging potential for a rosé, capable of evolving favourably until around 2033, progressively developing earthy tones and increased mineral complexity.

Other characteristics

This wine has an alcohol content of 12.5%, providing a moderate balance that allows for a clear, unmasked expression of its aromatic and flavour profiles.

An exceptional Provence rosé from a unique maritime terroir

The estate

Château Minuty was founded in 1936 when Gabriel Farnet acquired this property located on the Saint-Tropez Peninsula. Designated in 1955 among the twenty-three Crus Classés of Côtes de Provence, the estate now spans more than two hundred hectares spread across Gassin, Ramatuelle and Vidauban. Led by Jean-Étienne and François Matton, representing the third generation of the family, Château Minuty is recognised as the world leader in Provence rosé. In 2023, LVMH acquired a majority stake while keeping the Matton family at the operational helm. The fourth generation, embodied by Anne-Victoire Matton, joined the team in 2022. The estate stands out for its environmental commitment, having achieved HVE level 4 certification in 2025 and practising herbicide-free viticulture for nearly ninety years.

The vineyard

Château Minuty 281 2025 comes exclusively from a plot of old Grenache vines located about eight hundred metres from the Mediterranean, on schist-limestone soil. This unique terroir enjoys a remarkable exposure with views over the Bay of Saint-Tropez and a temperate Mediterranean climate with a strong maritime influence. Sea breezes, notably the Provençal mistral, contribute to the vines' health. The HVE-certified plots are managed according to sustainable practices, with entirely manual harvesting and rigorous grape selection. The Côtes de Provence appellation gives this wine its authentic Provençal identity.

The vintage

The 2025 vintage benefited from the Mediterranean climatic conditions characteristic of the region, with hot, dry summers ensuring optimal grape ripening, and relatively mild winters. The regulating influence of the Mediterranean Sea moderates temperature extremes, while sea breezes preserve the health of the vineyard.

Winemaking and aging

Château Minuty 281 2025 is made from grapes harvested by hand and sorted with extreme rigour. The winemaking favours a short period of skin maceration to preserve the delicacy of the primary aromas and the characteristic paleness of the colour. The winemaking techniques aim to express the purity of the fruit and the mineral identity of the terroir, without the use of oak, which could mask the wine's natural expression.
