The vibrancy of a Burgundy white wine by Albert Bichot

The estate

Founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot in Monthélie, the Albert Bichot House is a benchmark name in Burgundy, established in Beaune since 1912. Under the leadership of Albéric Bichot, the family’s sixth generation, this independent house manages over 100 hectares across six prestigious estates. A pioneer of organic farming in Burgundy, certified since 2014, Albert Bichot combines centuries-old tradition with eco-minded innovation while ensuring exemplary respect for its terroirs.

The vineyard

The vineyard of the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits stretches between 300 and 400 meters in altitude on the western slopes of the Côte de Nuits. The parcels benefit from a south to east exposure on clay-limestone soils. This altitude, combined with a often harsh climate, results in later and more gradual ripening than on the Côte, giving the wines remarkable freshness and fruit expression.

Vinification and aging

The Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2024 is vinified with an approach that respects the fruit. Alcoholic fermentation and aging on fine lees take place 70% in stainless-steel tanks and 30% in oak barrels, for 9 to 11 months. This combination preserves freshness while bringing subtle aromatic complexity.
