Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2022

What a fragrance—expressive, ripe citrus, passion fruit, lychee, with white flowers above and mineral undertones; straight and precise on the palate, dense, concentrated yet without heaviness, a wonderful sense of tension, great length, a salty finish—a hit!

A flattering style, with a kiss of warm brioche added onto a core of lemon curd, white peach and straw. Tarragon and verbena notes add range in the background. Nicely done. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2029. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,000 cases made, 200 cases imported.

A crisp, crunchy white with guava, grapefruit, lemongrass and spice on the nose. Salty elements follow on a medium-bodied, textured palate that builds in flavor. Long, vibrant and wonderfully concentrated. Sauvignon and semillon. Drink or hold.

86% Sauvignon Blanc, 14% Sémillon. Cask sample. Lightly smoky Sauvignon aromas. The broad palate is quite satisfying and could only be from this appellation. Long and fairly rich. Fairly low acidity, therefore not for very long ageing. (JR)

The nose reveals notes of white flowers, grapefruit, spearmint, orange, mango, green apple, and pineapple. From there, sweet yellow and orange citrus, pineapple, white peaches, and pears carry through from the mid-palate to the creamy, fruit-filled finish. The wine blends 86% Sauvignon Blanc with 14% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2034.

Medium yellow-green, silver reflections. Yellow tropical fruit, hints of mango and peach, a touch of orange zest and blossom honey. Deep and fruity, delicate aftertaste of passion fruit on the finish, lingers. A textured food wine.

An exotic, upfront, expressive white, the 2022 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc has ample orange blossom, honeyed flowers, and spicy notes as well as a richer, broad, layered style on the palate. It brings beautiful depth and richness, medium to full body, and outstanding length. Based on 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Semillon, it's a white geared for the dinner table.

Subdued aromatics, opens with citrus, pear and honeysuckle aromatics. As during En Primeur, this has a luscious character, channeling the character of the vintage. 70% new oak for ageing, 30% wooden casks; harvest August 26 to 29. 9ha of vines, 33hl/ha yield.

Sublime richness on the nose, with orchard fruit aromas. On the palate, a velvety yet dynamic texture that evolves with energy toward a radiant finish, marked by notes of mango and passion fruit.

Green-yellow color. Intense nose with ripe fruit. A touch of sauvignon and exotic fruit. Broad on the attack, opulent mid-palate; the wine glides along, supple, silky, and noble, with plenty of flavor, leading to a long, complex, and impossible-to-spit finish. Blend: 86% sauvignon, 14% sémillon. Alcohol: 14% ABV – pH: 3.23. Yield: 23 hl/ha.

A bright, pale yellow hue, heralding great freshness. On the nose, a complex and enticing aromatic palette combines white-fleshed fruits (peach, apricot), candied citrus and delicate spices. On the palate, the attack is straightforward, the texture silky, and the balance perfect. The fruity aromas from the nose return with intensity, accompanied by floral and mineral notes. The finish is long and persistent, with a slight bitterness that brings freshness and complexity.

Citrus, herbal, elderflower, peas, lots of Sauvignon notes on the nose. Clean and crisp, bite and freshness here, sharp and lively. A wonderful combination of juicy, fleshy peach with bright lime and grapefruit pith offering sweetness, sharpness, bitterness and coolness. Well constructed with lots of enjoyable drinking promise. Doesn’t shout so much right now, but there’s grip, intensity and finesse. Elegant yet characterful. Harvest 22–31 August. Aged eight months. Derenoncourt consultants.
