Vinum

Complex nose, delicately fruity, with red berries, cherries, subtle floral notes and a hint of cream; on the palate, seductive and charming, with a soft, slightly creamy texture, pronounced tannins finely interwoven with the fruit; the finish shows delicate fruit and a very fine length. It will be a pleasure at every stage.

Decanter

Clean fragrance on the nose, black fruit and wild purple flowers with some creamy chocolate and vanilla touches. Round and filling, but less fleshy than Les Hauts, more taught and streamlined with focus and bite to the Cab strawberry and black currant fruit – pure and precise – with a lick of liquorice, graphite, cedar, tobacco, cigar, salt, flint and clove spice. Serious but with charm. Mint, freshness, a real Pauillac wine with strength but not too muscular.

Currants, flowers, forest leaves, and tobacco are already showing in the nose. The medium-bodied palate is sweet, vibrant, and fruity, leaving a touch of creaminess in the bright, lively, blackberry and currant-packed finish. The refreshing touch of mint leaf that comes in at the end adds a nice complexity. The wine blends 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 23% Merlot.13.5% ABV. Drink from 2030-2050. 92-94 Pts

A good vintage for Lynch Moussas, studded through with cloves, white pepper, sage, cassis, plenty of Pauillac character, should be ready to go in 5 to 6 years rather than the classic 10 for this appellation. 56% new oak, Axel Marchal and Valerie Lavigne consultants.

The bouquet of Lynch-Moussas gradually reveals itself. It opens with a hint of reduction, which bodes well for its longevity. With aeration, notes of black berries and pepper emerge, along with a touch of eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine shows compact, velvety tannins. They bring power and provide a solid backbone, together with the acidity. A wine that is continuing on its path and gaining in definition.

The elegance and power of a great Pauillac wine

The estate

Located in the renowned Bordeaux region, Château Lynch-Moussas was established in the early 19th century following the division of the historic Lynch family estate. This prestigious 62-hectare vineyard, classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, has belonged to the Castéja family since 1919. Today, Philippe Castéja heads the estate and passionately continues the family legacy. Through significant investment and constant modernization, he has successfully restored this iconic label to its former glory, recognized for the excellence of its wines.

The vineyard

The estate extends across the famous western plateaus of the Pauillac appellation. The vines, averaging around 40 years of age, thrive on Günzian gravel rises, resting on a subsoil composed of marl and limestone. This exceptional terroir encourages deep root development. Vineyard management is carried out with the utmost respect for the environment, including mechanical soil work and High Environmental Value certification (HVE 3). Harvesting is done by hand.

The vintage

A mild and dry winter promotes early and even budburst, followed by a spring whose mild, dry conditions limit disease pressure. At the end of May, flowering occurs early, as does véraison during a particularly hot and dry summer until mid-August, when significant temperature variations are ideal for refining grape ripeness. Harvesting begins very early, in early September, under favorable conditions.

Winemaking and aging

Cold maceration of the must for a few days to encourage the extraction of aromas, color, and tannins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks before draining with separation of free-run and press wines, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging in barrels (around 56% new) lasts 16 to 18 months.
