Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Sentiers" 2022 by Albert Bichot
Tasting notes
Colour
The colour is characteristic of Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, delicate and refined.
Nose
The nose is delicate and refined, releasing aromas of small red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and ripe cherry, subtly enhanced by floral notes of rose and violet.
Palate
The palate is both airy and full-bodied, carried by silky tannins that express all the finesse of the appellation. The long, elegant finish confirms the beautiful balance and potential of this cuvée.
Food and wine pairing
This wine is ideally paired with roasted or slow-cooked meats such as poultry, veal, lamb or game birds, particularly when enhanced by a mushroom sauce such as morels. It also pairs very well with mild, soft-textured cheeses.
Serving and cellaring
The Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Sentiers" 2022 is ideally served at a temperature between 16 and 17°C.
The elegance of a Chambolle-Musigny from a historic Burgundy house
The estate
Founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot in Monthélie, the house of Albert Bichot settled permanently in Beaune in 1912, the historic heart of Burgundy. Led since 1996 by Albéric Bichot, the sixth generation of the family, this independent house farms more than 100 hectares spread across six estates throughout the great Burgundian terroirs. Committed to sustainable viticulture, it obtained "organic farming" certification in 2014, followed by "organic wine" certification from the 2018 vintage for its estates in the Côte d'Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
The vineyard
This Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru comes from the "Les Sentiers" climat, located on the border between Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, just below the Bonnes-Mares grand cru. This edge-of-village terroir rests on relatively deep clay-limestone soil, a composition that favours both water retention and a beautiful mineral freshness, contributing to the density and finesse sought in this climat.
Vinification and ageing
The vinification of the Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Sentiers" 2022 takes place in temperature-controlled wooden vats, with fermentation maceration lasting around three weeks, allowing gradual and controlled extraction. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 14 to 17 months, with a proportion of new oak of between 35 and 50%, in keeping with a low-intervention winemaking philosophy.
