The Silky Tannins and Balance of a Burgundy Wine from Domaine Albert Morot
The Estate
Established in 1820, Domaine Albert Morot spans 8 hectares of certified organic farming, cultivating the prestigious Premier Crus of Beaune. Acquired in 2023 by Sophie and Guillaume Poitrinal, the estate is now managed by Pierre-Jean Villa. This historic Burgundian property stands out for its mosaic of exceptional terroirs and its environmentally respectful approach.
The Vineyard
This Burgundy red wine comes from vineyards located in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, planted on clay-limestone marl soils. The vines, around 40 years old, benefit from an east-facing exposure at the foot of the slopes.
Vinification and Aging
The harvest is carried out 100% by hand in small 15 kg crates, with rigorous sorting in the vineyard and the cellar. Traditional vinification is carried out in open vats with indigenous yeasts, without inoculation, accompanied exclusively by regular pump-overs. The Bourgogne Côte d'Or "Pinot Noir" 2023 undergoes 18 months of aging in French oak barrels and tronconic wooden vats, with a slow malolactic fermentation and without racking. Bottling is done by gravity without fining or filtration.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy, which here reveals all its finesse and elegance.
