The estate

Daughter of one of the greatest winegrowing families in Burgundy, Francine Picard took over in the late 1990s the estate historically run by her father. Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve spans the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, in the heart of the finest climats and terroirs of winegrowing Burgundy.

With a desire for synergy between the land and the wines, Francine Picard cultivates her plots according to the principles of biodynamics and works with passion and the utmost attention to produce wines that reflect the identity of their terroir.

Coming from a 110-hectare vineyard farmed using "agroecology", the chardonnay and pinot noir of Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve are recognised for their quality, precision and elegance.

Since May 2019, Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne, a specialist in biodynamic viticulture, has joined the team of this illustrious Burgundian estate as Technical Director.

The vineyard

"Le Charmois" red from Au Pied du Mont Chauve is a Saint-Aubin wine 1er Cru produced from a 2.30-hectare plot located on the hillside overlooking the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. Planted at an altitude of 250 metres, the vines, more than 50 years old, grow on poor, limestone soils with an eastern exposure.
