Description
Tasting notes and characteristics of the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Pitangerets" 2024 from Au Pied du Mont Chauve
Tasting
Appearance
A pale, bright yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish reflections.
Nose
Complex and nuanced, the bouquet reveals aromas of fresh citrus, peach and white flowers. The whole is underlined by subtle hints of nutmeg and a typical minerality reminiscent of gunflint.
Palate
The attack is silky and caressing, introducing a fleshy and unctuous texture. Perfectly balanced by a refreshing tension, the palate stretches elegantly towards a long, precise and saline finish.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood such as grilled lobster or prawns, as well as with white-fleshed fish served with a light beurre blanc sauce. It will also enhance roasted poultry, a light foie gras terrine, asparagus or fresh goat cheeses.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate this wine, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 13°C. A light decanting of about thirty minutes before tasting is recommended. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will reveal its full complexity if kept in the cellar until around 2031.

The estate
Founded in the late 2000s by the Picard family, whose winegrowing history in Burgundy began in 1951, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate covers 35 hectares. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the property extends across the prestigious appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today led by Francine Picard, the estate stands out for its strong environmental commitment, with organic certification obtained in 2019 and the rigorous application of biodynamic principles to enhance the authentic expression of its terroirs.
The vineyard
The "Pitangerets" climat is a prestigious Premier Cru located in the southern part of the Saint-Aubin appellation, on the border with Chassagne-Montrachet. Rising between 300 and 350 metres in altitude, this singular terroir is characterised by steep slopes facing east and south-east. The vines flourish on clay-limestone soils dating from the Jurassic period, dominated by brown clays that ensure excellent water regulation. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, with natural grass cover and strict Guyot pruning to preserve the balance of the vine.
