Situated in the Cote d'or, the Rugiens-Hauts parcel is without a doubt one of the most famous in Pommard. The estate of Bouchon Pere & Fils has been the owner of 42 acres of this prime terroir since 1853. The robe of the 2011 Pommard Premier Cru Rugiens is a rich garnet with undertones of brown. The nose is expressive and intense, with a bouquet defined by jammy red fruit and spices. The palate is ample and rich, supported by fine and noble tannins. This is a robust and intense Pommard with notes of spice and pepper that require age to fully develop.
