Description
Characteristics and tasting tips for Cuvée Rosé "Robe Rubans" by Laurent-Perrier
Tasting
Colour
This Champagne reveals a raspberry hue that gradually evolves towards soft salmon-pink tints.
Nose
The nose is remarkably fresh, carried by a generous array of fresh red fruits: raspberry, redcurrant, strawberry and black cherry.
Palate
The attack is clean and tangy, leading to a supple, rounded palate reminiscent of a basket of freshly picked red fruits.
Serving and cellaring
The non-vintage Cuvée Rosé "Robe Rubans" is aged in bottle for five years before release, which gives it depth and aromatic complexity.
A 100% Pinot Noir maceration rosé from the Montagne de Reims, crafted by Laurent-Perrier
The estate
Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne by André-Michel Pierlot, Laurent-Perrier is today an independent, family-owned Champagne house. It is run by a Management Board chaired by Stéphane Dalyac, alongside Alexandra Pereyre de Nonancourt and Stéphanie Meneux de Nonancourt, descendants of Bernard de Nonancourt. Renowned for a style that combines freshness, elegance and purity, the House has established itself as a pioneer of maceration rosé Champagnes and zero-dosage Champagnes.
The vineyard
Cuvée Rosé is made from grapes sourced from around ten crus in the Montagne de Reims, an emblematic terroir of Champagne. The selected plots are harvested at optimal ripeness, then the grapes are sorted and destemmed before going into vat, ensuring fruit of great purity.
The blend
Cuvée Rosé "Robe Rubans" is a non-vintage Champagne whose consistency of style relies on Laurent-Perrier's expert management and selection of reserve wines, one of the core skills the House prides itself on.
Winemaking and ageing
The non-vintage Cuvée Rosé "Robe Rubans" is produced through a maceration of Pinot Noir lasting 48 to 72 hours depending on the harvest, a rare process in Champagne that extracts colour and aromas from the berries. The wine is then vinified and matured before tirage, and subsequently aged for five years in bottle.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
