The property

Driven by passion and a strong vision, Yves Canarelli took over a vineyard near Figari, in the south of Corsica, in 1993. Deeply committed to the promotion of native grape varieties, he restructured and expanded the estate, which now covers 28 hectares. Clos Canarelli is now established as one of the major references among the great names of Corsican wines.

The vineyard

Certified in Organic Agriculture since 2002 and conducted in biodynamics since 2006, the vineyard of Clos Canarelli benefits from an exceptional environment. Thanks to modern winemaking facilities, the wines produced accurately and sincerely reflect the identity of their original Corsican terroir.

The wine

Produced under the Vins de Corse Figari appellation, the Clos Canarelli red comes from vines oriented south / northwest, planted on clay-granite soils. This terroir benefits from a warm climate, swept by winds, as well as a strong thermal amplitude between day and night, ideal conditions to ensure a slow and balanced maturation of the grapes.

Vinification and aging

After crushing and destemming, the grapes ferment thanks to indigenous yeasts. The aging, lasting 16 months, takes place in vats, respecting the raw material.

Blend

This Clos Canarelli 2022 elegantly combines niellucciu, syrah and sciacarello, three emblematic grape varieties that define the identity and aromatic richness of this cuvée.
