Description

Tasting Characteristics and Advice for Cordero di Montezemolo's 2025 Langhe Arneis

Tasting Notes

Appearance
This wine reveals a bright straw-yellow colour, enhanced by delicate green highlights.

Nose
Remarkably fine, the complex floral bouquet blends notes of acacia, peach blossom and chamomile. It then opens onto fruity aromas of green apple, melon and ripe peach, lifted by a subtle hint of hazelnut.

Palate
Inviting and beautifully fresh, the palate seduces with its medium body and its texture that is both rich and elegant. Carried by a chalky minerality and citrus notes, it stretches into a lingering finish, marked by a fine herbaceous bitterness typical of the grape variety.

Food and Wine Pairing

This Italian white wine pairs wonderfully with spring antipasti, savoury tarts or a herb omelette. It also perfectly accompanies a chilled vitello tonnato, freshwater fish, seafood, as well as vegetable pasta dishes or white meats served with a light sauce.

Serving and Cellaring

To fully appreciate all the nuances of this 2025 Arneis, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of between 10 and 12°C. This wine can be enjoyed young to savour its aromatic brightness, but it will continue to evolve favourably until around 2030.

The elegance of a white wine from an iconic estate in Piedmont

The Estate

Located in Piedmont, at the heart of the Barolo appellation, the Cordero di Montezemolo estate has a history closely tied to the Monfalletto hill. While the winegrowing origins of these lands date back to 1340 with the Falletti family, the modern winery was established in 1937 under the impetus of Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo. Today, the estate is run by Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo, supported by his children Elena and Alberto. The estate oversees around fifty hectares of certified organic vineyards, renowned for its majestic Cedar of Lebanon planted in 1856, a true emblem of the family.

The Vineyard

The grapes for this cuvée come from carefully selected plots across several communes of the Langhe, such as La Morra, Alba, Guarene, Castagnito and Govone. Entirely farmed organically, this terroir benefits from a diversity of microclimates, allowing for controlled yields of around 59 hectolitres per hectare, thereby ensuring grapes of exceptional aromatic purity.

Winemaking and Ageing

The hand harvest for this 2025 Arneis takes place during the first half of September. After gentle destemming and pressing, the must is clarified before undergoing fermentation for around a month in stainless steel tanks, kept at a temperature of between 13 and 15°C. To preserve the freshness of the grape variety, no oak ageing takes place. The wine then rests on its fine lees for three months, before naturally clarifying in tank and ageing for at least two months in bottle.
