The Elegance and Minerality of a White Vin de France
The Estate
The modern history of Domaine Comte Abbatucci began in the 1920s with Jacques Abbatucci. Located in Corsica, France, this family estate is now run by Jean-Charles Abbatucci, supported by his daughter Faustine. A pioneer of biodynamics on the island since 2000, the estate stands out for its holistic approach and its role as a living conservatory, home to eighteen native grape varieties. Domaine Comte Abbatucci has thus established itself as an essential reference, combining respect for living organisms, historical heritage and the enhancement of a unique winegrowing legacy.
The Vineyard
This Vin de France comes from vines grown in the heart of the Taravo valley, at a moderate altitude. The specific terroir of this cuvée consists of sandy-loam soils, particularly well suited to expressing the estate's white grape variety. The vineyard is farmed according to the strict principles of biodynamics, treating the earth as a living organism. The ecosystem is preserved through the use of natural preparations, soil work carried out by draft horses, and the presence of sheep to maintain the grass cover.
Winemaking and Aging
For the Faustine Vieilles Vignes 2025 cuvée, the grapes are harvested by hand. Winemaking follows a minimal-intervention approach, guided by the lunar calendar and the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts during spontaneous fermentations. The wine is aged without any oak influence, in order to preserve the purity of the fruit and the authentic expression of the terroir.
Grape Variety
Vermentino.
