The structure rests on wonderfully silky tannins, offering a perfect balance between concentration and refinement. A lovely minerality underpins the whole, leading to a persistent finish of remarkable freshness, punctuated by floral and spicy echoes.

The elegance and minerality of a great Burgundy wine from Domaine des Perdrix
The estate
Located at the heart of the wine region, Domaine des Perdrix underwent a true renaissance following its acquisition in 1996 by Bertrand and Christiane Devillard. Today, the estate is passionately run by the Devillard family, notably by the new generation embodied by Amaury and Aurore. Spanning a vineyard of 15 hectares, this estate has established itself as a key reference in the Côte de Nuits. It stands out for its approach combining respect for tradition with modern techniques, revealing the excellence of its Burgundy terroirs.
The vineyard
The grapes for this Vosne-Romanée come from plots spanning approximately 1.05 hectares, spread across three distinct climats: Les Quartiers de Nuits, Les Hautes Maizières, and Les Chalandins. With an average age of around fifty years, the vines thrive on clay-limestone soils with a predominance of clay. The Hautes Maizières plot brings a unique mineral dimension thanks to the presence of limestone rocks rich in crinoid fossils. The estate favours sustainable farming to preserve the health of the vines and the expression of the terroir.
The vintage
The year 2022 was marked by contrasting weather conditions. After a spring frost episode in April, the vines experienced an early and optimal flowering in May. The summer was then punctuated by several heatwaves and persistent drought. Fortunately, saving rains in late June and August allowed the fruit to achieve perfect ripeness. This demanding cycle ultimately gave rise to a generous vintage, offering berries of beautiful concentration while preserving remarkable aromatic freshness.
Winemaking and aging
To craft this Vosne-Romanée "Village" 2022, the grapes are harvested by hand, followed by rigorous sorting and complete destemming. A four-to-six-day cold pre-fermentation maceration precedes fermentation with indigenous yeasts lasting 15 to 20 days. Extraction is gently carried out through punching down, without pumping over. After separating the free-run and press juices, the wine is aged for approximately 12 months in 228-litre French oak barrels, with 26 to 40% new wood, ensuring harmonious integration.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
