Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2024 Domaine du Château de Meursault
Tasting
Colour
The wine reveals a bright pale yellow hue, illuminated by clear, brilliant highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet stands out for its precision, exuding scents of white-fleshed fruits such as peach and pear, mingled with delicate floral notes of hawthorn. Subtle buttery and toasted touches intertwine, all underpinned by a beautiful mineral backbone.
Palate
The attack proves full and delicate, revealing a perfectly balanced structure. The palate offers a refined, unctuous texture, favouring elegance and freshness. The finish, with lovely persistence, extends the fruity and mineral notes, supported by a pleasant tension.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with poultry in sauce, noble fish such as turbot or sole meunière, as well as with seafood. It also goes very well with matured goat's cheese or Comté.
Service and storage
The Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2024 can be enjoyed young for its fruity brilliance, but also has the structure needed to evolve favourably in the cellar for several years.
The authentic expression of the Savigny-Les-Beaune terroir by Domaine du Château de Meursault
The estate
Founded in the 11th century, Domaine du Château de Meursault is an iconic figure of Burgundy. Spanning around 65 hectares across more than a hundred plots, the estate is now run by the Halley family, who acquired it in 2012. Under their leadership, the domaine has undergone a major environmental shift. Combining an exceptional historical heritage with demanding winegrowing practices, the domaine stands out for its commitment to preserving its terroirs.
The vineyard
The plots dedicated to this wine lie within the Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation. Ideally located on the upper part of the slopes, the vines benefit from excellent exposure. They thrive on clay-limestone soils, giving the terroir its unique mineral identity.
The vintage
2024 was marked by demanding weather conditions. The growing cycle began with an unsettled spring. Summer then brought rainfall, requiring constant vigilance. Late in the season, the return of restorative sunshine allowed the grapes to reach optimal aromatic ripeness and concentration ahead of a harvest carried out under the best conditions.
Winemaking and aging
The making of this Savigny-Les-Beaune Village white is approached with meticulous care, with winemaking geared towards achieving elegance and purity of fruit. Pressing is gentle, followed by aging in French oak barrels, which brings complexity and roundness to the wine while preserving its natural freshness.
