Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Aux Beaux Bruns" 2022 by Joseph Faiveley
Tasting
Colour
The colour reveals a brilliant garnet red, enhanced by deep purplish hues typical of its youth.
Nose
Particularly expressive and of great complexity, the bouquet reveals aromas of ripe fruit intertwined with spicy notes, toasted touches and subtle smoky nuances.
Palate
Refined and elegant, the palate offers perfect balance. It unfolds flavours of blackberry and small berries, underscored by spices and delicate oak. The tannins, perfectly integrated, envelop the palate while retaining a lace-like texture, leading to a remarkably long finish.
Food and Wine Pairing
This wine pairs wonderfully with feathered game such as duck or goose, as well as with herb-roasted lamb served pink. It also enhances a mushroom and truffle risotto, or soft-rind cheeses such as brie and camembert.
Service and Storage
Endowed with great aging potential, this great red wine can be cellared for optimal tasting between approximately 2032 and 2042.
The Elegance and Complexity of a Great Burgundy Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley is an iconic figure of Burgundy. Now led by the seventh generation, embodied by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, the estate oversees a vast vineyard of approximately 127 hectares spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. Combining respect for tradition with modernity, the estate stands out for its environmental commitment, ensuring the authentic expression of its terroirs.
The Vineyard
Located in the northern part of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, the climat of Beaux Bruns benefits from an ideal south-east exposure for optimal grape ripening. The vines thrive on chalky marl soils rich in limestone, with a moderate proportion of clay. This unique geology gives the wine its depth and its distinctive mineral character.
The Vintage
The year 2022 stood out for its excellent weather conditions. This favourable climate allowed the grapes to reach balanced ripeness, fostering the development of intense colours and rich aromatic complexity while preserving structuring acidity.
Grape Variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
