Description
Characteristics and Tasting Recommendations of the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Demoiselles 2022 from Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils
Tasting
Color
This great Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet displays a brilliant golden color, a true signature of the finest expressions of the grape variety on this exceptional terroir.
Nose
The nose charms with its aromatic richness and precision. Delicate notes of citrus blossoms and fresh lemon intertwine with indulgent hints of peach and ripe apricot. On aeration, the minerality intensifies, accompanied by elegant touches of dried fruits and toasted almonds.
Palate
The palate impresses with its density and finesse. Sourced from old vines ideally exposed, this cuvée reveals a noble mineral backbone, supported by a generous structure and great depth. The aromatic persistence unfolds in successive layers, giving the wine an almost tactile dimension.
Service and aging
This 1er Cru “Les Demoiselles” is best served at its peak between 12 and 14 °C. It can be enjoyed now, but its noble structure will allow it to age gracefully until around 2032.
A distinguished white 1er Cru from Burgundy, carried by a rare freshness
The estate
Founded in 1920 in Chassagne-Montrachet by Arsène Amiot, the Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils has epitomized Burgundian excellence for five generations. Today led by Thierry and Fabrice Amiot, it set itself apart in the 1930s by bottling on the estate. The domaine cultivates a deeply rooted heritage, where family tradition merges with a strong feminine influence, as exemplified by the cuvées Flavie and Simone, created in homage since 2015. Among its jewels, the domaine includes emblematic climats such as Les Caillerets, Les Vergers, and the prestigious Montrachet Grand Cru.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the appellation Puligny-Montrachet, the “Les Demoiselles” plot spans 0.31 hectare. Its exposure, bathed in morning light, and its typical clay-limestone soil of the Côte de Beaune provide an ideal setting for Chardonnay. The 50-year-old vines impart an extraordinary complexity and mineral tension to this cuvée.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
