The estate
The history of Domaine Poisot Père & Fils has its origins in 1902, when Marie Poisot received half of her father Louis Latour's vineyard, while the other half, allocated to her brother, became the heart of the eponymous House. Her vines, soon divided among six children, went notably to Pierre, who served as head of cultivation at Louis Latour until his death in 1937. His wife, Yvonne, ensured its usufruct, before the parcels were finally distributed in 1979 to their three children: Maurice, Henri and France. Long managed under lease or sharecropping, the vines returned in 1986 to Maurice, then passed in 2010 into the hands of his son Rémi, in the same spirit of tradition and excellence. Of the original estate, only the lands of Maurice and France remain today, those of Henri having been sold in 1990.
The vineyard
This Romanée Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is produced from a 0.49-hectare vineyard, whose vines are approximately 35 years old. This illustrious terroir of the Côte de Nuits rests on brown calcareous and clay soils.
