Description
All the fruity complexity of an Italian wine crafted with respect for the environment
The estate
The story of Cantina Endrizzi began in 1885. The philosophy of its owners, Paolo and Christine Endrici, rests on simple principles: understanding that wine is the end product of a series of processes in which environmentally friendly farming plays a central role. In keeping with this approach, the estate has banned the use of chemical treatments in its vineyards and has reduced the addition of sulphites to its wines. These measures are one of the reasons why the wines of Cantina Endrizzi are so highly acclaimed. Indeed, these sublime Italian wines stand out for their unique character, which reflects the terroir that gave rise to them and bears the Endrizzi signature.
The vineyard
Considered one of the oldest estates in Trentino, Cantina Endrizzi enjoys an enchanting location south of the Alps, where the warmth of the Mediterranean climate meets the freshness of the continental climate. The Pian Di Castello, Masetto and Kinderleit vineyards are all located near the village of San Michele all'Adige, in the heart of the Adige Valley, Italy.
Teroldego Riserva 2014 comes from old vines grown on gravelly soils covered with a layer of fertile earth. The terroir enjoys a microclimate with a good temperature difference between day and night.
Winemaking and ageing
After the manual harvest, during which the finest berries are selected, the grapes are taken to the cellar to begin a highly precise winemaking process. The berries first ferment at a controlled temperature for 10 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in oak barrels.
