Description
The finesse and liveliness of a Chablis Village wine
The estate
Founded in 1923 through the efforts of Abbé Balitrand, the cooperative cellar La Chablisienne is the largest producer of Chablis wines. From Petit Chablis to Chablis, through Chablis Premiers Crus and Chablis Grands Crus, not to mention the cuvées of the legendary Château Grenouille, La Chablisienne produces around thirty different cuvées and crus, allowing enthusiasts of great Bourgogne wines to discover the multiple personalities of Chablis wines.
The vineyard
La Chablisienne’s cuvée "La Sereine" is a Chablis wine from the essential Burgundian terroir, sourced from vineyards spread across all the communes of the appellation. The name of this cuvée refers to the Serein River. Averaging 30 years of age, the vines are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and ageing
Static cold settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in tanks. This Chablis Village undergoes around 12 months of ageing on fine lees, in tanks and barrels.
Grape variety
This 2020 Chablis Village "La Sereine" from La Chablisienne is 100% Chardonnay.
