Decanter

Beautiful vibrant colour in the glass with a pink rim. So fragrant with rose petals and red cherries – smells pristine, really clear and clean. Smooth and sappy with lovely succulence straight away and mouthwatering acidity. This is delicious, tastes like grape juice with grippy tannins and a chalky, graphite finish. Crunchy, delicate yet super flavourful, crisp with high acidity and lovely Cabernet freshness plus mint, aniseed and clove spice. Strength is there. A yield of 30hl/ha. New cellar with more precise plot selection. Small crop but good quality. Earliest ever Merlot harvest on 4 September, Cabernets picked 14-18th. Rain on 13/14th helped reduce alcohol a little in the Cabernets.

Forward, soft, sweet, and fruity, the cassis comes through easily on the medium-bodied, fresh, sweet, vibrant, crisp, palate. Give it just a year or two in the bottle and this is going to be a fine, baby Grand Puy Lacoste. The wine blends 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2040. 89-91 Pts

High Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, and this has excellent vivacity and juice, blueberry, raspberry, cloves, slate, great lift and character. This is now entirely made from a separate part of the vineyard (marked by the new Vignes du Parc' on the label), and is the first vintage vinified in the new winery. 15% new oak for ageing.

Lacoste-Borie stands out with clarity and authenticity, clearly expressing where it comes from. Meanwhile, most of the vines it comes from are 30 years old… and it’s a true wine of place! Alongside graphite notes, it reveals aromas of red and black berries with a touch of fresh oak. Its creamy texture suggests a wine of good density, confirmed by tannins that sustain its breadth and champion its freshness, also thanks to the incisive edge of its acidity. A Lacoste-Borie that has come a long way and deserves to be regarded as a wine in its own right.

Vibrant color with purple highlights. Intense, fruity nose, pure and fresh, developing raspberry notes with a swirl of the glass. Delicate on entry, very flavorful on the mid-palate with bright intensity, the wine finishes long with a touch of liveliness that will integrate with aging. Blend: 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13% - pH: 3.6 - IPT: 59. Yield: 30 hl/ha.

The indulgent, elegant expression of a Pauillac wine

The estate

Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, on the Left Bank of BordeauxChâteau Grand-Puy-Lacoste took its present form in 1855, although it was originally built in the 16th century. The estate was profoundly shaped by Raymond Dupin, who owned it from 1930 to 1978. He then handed it over to the Borie family in 1978, who have carried out numerous renovations ever since. Today, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste stands as one of the most representative crus of the Pauillac appellation.

The vineyard

The plots dedicated to this cuvée lie to the west of the château's park, in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, surrounded by prestigious classified growths. Replanted from 1978 onwards, this vineyard, with an average age of over 30 years, sits on sandy-gravelly soils made up of fine alluvium, with a density of 7,000 vines per hectare. Vineyard work is geared towards agroecology: natural grass cover, planting of hedges and trees since 2015, and winter grazing by a flock of sheep.

The label of this 2025 vintage bears the mention "Vignes du Parc", referring to the over-30-year-old vineyard from which this cuvée is produced.

The vintage

The 2025 year was marked by remarkable earliness. After a mild and relatively dry winter, budburst took place uniformly from the end of March. A spring spared from humidity ensured excellent sanitary conditions and allowed an ideal flowering to begin on 19 May. Summer proved hot and dry, leading to a swift veraison on 15 July, with the vineyard fully coloured by the end of the month. A few welcome rain showers from 29 August onwards reshaped the end of the season, before the manual harvest was carried out from 4 to 18 September. The yield stood at 30 hl/ha.

Winemaking and aging

The making of this Lacoste-Borie begins with an exclusively manual harvest, followed by vinification in vats adapted to each plot in order to favour gentle extractions. Macerations are long, varying from 18 to 21 days depending on the lot. The wine then benefits from 14 months of aging in a dedicated cellar, in French oak barrels.

Grape varieties

The blend is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (68%), Merlot (24%) and Cabernet Franc (8%). The presence of the latter brings beautiful freshness, vibrancy to the fruit and great elegance.
