A great white Burgundy by Louis Jadot
The estate
Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot is a true institution in Burgundy. Historically renowned for its négoce-élevage model, the House experienced significant expansion in the 1960s under the leadership of Jacques Jadot, developing its own vineyard holdings. Today, the estate belongs to the Maisons et Domaines Henriot group, which has owned it since 2021. Technical management remains autonomous and is overseen by Frédéric Barnier, ensuring the lasting expertise of this illustrious Burgundian House.
The vineyard
Located in the northern part of Burgundy, halfway between Paris and Dijon, the Chablis vineyard benefits from a continental climate marked by very cold winters, hot summers and spring frosts. The Les Preuses parcel is one of the seven climats classified as Grand Cru appellation. It lies on the right bank of the Serein, on a hillside with a south-westerly exposure. Its Kimmeridgian soils, rich in marl and featuring a high concentration of fossils, give the vines a unique character.
Vinification and ageing
The crafting of the Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" 2022 begins with a gentle pressing of the berries. Part of the juice then ferments in double barrels with a capacity of 456 litres, while the rest is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine is aged on fine lees for 13 to 15 months before bottling.
Grape variety
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay.
