The elegance and richness of a Premier Cru from Chassagne-Montrachet

The estate

Founded in 1797 in the heart of the village of Aloxe-Corton, the Maison Louis Latour is a true institution in Burgundy. This historic estate oversees an exceptional vineyard of forty-eight hectares, a large part of which is classified as Grand Cru. Committed to certified sustainable viticulture, the estate is also distinguished by owning its own cooperage. Since December 2025, Florent Latour, representing the eleventh generation, has led the estate, carrying on the family's excellence and expertise through wines of great precision.

The vineyard

This white wine comes from the prestigious terroir of Chassagne-Montrachet, located in the Côte de Beaune. The historic Clos Saint-Jean plot, whose origins date back to medieval times, thrives on the mid-slope over a remarkable clay-limestone subsoil. The vines, around thirty-five years old, benefit from controlled yields and sustainable farming practices, resulting in highly concentrated grapes while preserving their natural freshness.

Winemaking and aging

After hand-harvesting and rigorous sorting, the grapes are pressed directly without destemming. Fermentation takes place traditionally in barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for eight to ten months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 25% of which are new, all custom-made by the estate's own cooperage.

Grape variety

Chardonnay (100%).
