Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a deep, intense ruby hue.
Nose
The bouquet opens with blackcurrant bud aromas, enhanced by subtly toasted notes.
Palate
The palate is broad and velvety, revealing flavors of cherry, forest floor, and licorice. The tannins are exceptionally fine, and the lingering finish gracefully extends the tasting experience.
Food and Wine Pairings
Game, ribeye steak, braised lamb, veal with morel mushrooms, or cheeses such as Époisses or Langres make for refined pairings.
Serving and Cellaring
This wine should be enjoyed at 16–17°C (61–63°F) and can be cellared until around 2042.

Vineyard
As early as the 12th century, Clos Vougeot—formerly owned by the Cistercian monks of Cîteaux—was dedicated to vine cultivation. Today, Clos Vougeot wines represent the largest Grand Cru appellation in Burgundy, encompassing 52 hectares of vineyards and 80 different owners.
Winemaking and Aging
100% malolactic fermentation in open vats, followed by aging in new French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months.
