    Estate

The largest wine estate in Burgundy, Domaine Louis Latour boasts over 200 years of winemaking history. Spanning the finest plots in both Premier and Grand Cru vineyards from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, the 50-hectare vineyard of Domaine Louis Latour produces a range of wines from 130 appellations, each authentically and elegantly expressing the characteristics of its original terroir.

Since 1996, Domaine Louis Latour has been actively committed to sustainable and environmentally respectful viticulture.

    Vineyard

As early as the 12th century, Clos Vougeot, formerly owned by the Cistercian monks of Cîteaux, was devoted to vine cultivation. Today, Clos Vougeot wines represent the largest Grand Cru appellation in Burgundy, encompassing 52 hectares of vines and 80 different owners.

    The vintage

The 2023 winegrowing year began with a mild winter and sunny spring, allowing for rapid vine development despite some concerns related to humidity and downy mildew. The summer was mixed, with above-normal temperatures and significant rainfall, requiring constant vigilance. A late August and early September heatwave ultimately saved the harvest, allowing for perfect grape ripening.

    Winemaking and aging

100% malolactic fermentation, in open vats. This is followed by aging in new French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months.

    Grape variety

This Clos Vougeot Grand cru 2023 by Louis Latour is 100% Pinot Noir.
