James Suckling

Really deep nose of forest berries and violets. Then comes the very focused and amazingly velvety palate. The super-fine tannins and healthy acidity give this an extremely elegant profile, everything flowing effortlessly in the direction of nirvana. Drink or hold.

Bettane+Desseauve

A complete Corton with superb aromatic class, perfectly matured and well-defined, all in finesse, and likely more harmonious in this vintage than in other sectors of the cru. A great future and perhaps a worthy successor to the 1959! Peak around 2035.

Anna-Christina Cabrales

Dark plums, thyme, and earthy tones create a luscious nose. The palate is inviting, offering concentrated black cherries and bramble, framed by cardamom, warming spices, and a hint of green peppercorn. Silky and fruit-forward, this wine is beautifully balanced, with no trace of bitterness on the finish. Delicious.

The Expression and Structure of a Burgundy Red Grand Cru

The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Beaune, the Louis Latour estate remains an independent family property now run by the eleventh generation. Based in Burgundy, it is the largest Grand Crus domain in the Côte d'Or, with prestigious parcels such as Corton-Charlemagne and Chambertin. A pioneer in adopting modern techniques while preserving traditional methods, Louis Latour stands out for its exceptional family continuity spanning over two centuries.

The vineyard

Clos de la Vigne au Saint benefits from a privileged location on the Corton hill, with full south exposure over outcrops of parent rock. Soils rich in red marl and limestone give the wine its Burgundian typicity. The vines, averaging 40 years of age, are managed with a controlled yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare and hand-harvested to preserve grape quality.

Winemaking and aging

Traditional vinification in open vats with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 35% new oak at medium toast, allowing a harmonious integration of oak and preservation of terroir expression.

Grape variety

This Grand Cru is made exclusively from Pinot Noir.
