En Primeur Wines – delivery in early 2026
Description
A Meursault white wine ideally expressing the elegance and richness of its terroir
The estate
Spread over 50 hectares, the Domaine Louis Latour has some of the most prestigious plots in Burgundy, from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, in Premiers et Grands Crus. The largest wine estate in the region, this family-owned house has embodied for over two centuries the excellence of Burgundian négociant trade and the mastery of a winemaking know-how passed down from generation to generation.
The vineyard
Located south of Volnay and Pommard, the commune of Meursault is renowned as the largest producer of White wines in the southern Côte-d’Or. The terroir consists of very stony marl-limestone soils, perfectly southeast facing, giving the wines great precision and remarkable finesse.
The vintage
The 2023 growing season began with a mild winter and a sunny spring, allowing the vines to develop quickly despite some concerns related to humidity and mildew. The summer was mixed, with temperatures above normal and significant rainfall, requiring constant vigilance. A heatwave in late August and early September ultimately saved the harvest, allowing perfect ripening of the grapes.
Winemaking and aging
After carefully sorted harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature, followed by aging of 13 to 14 months. Half of the wine rests in previously used oak barrels, on fine lees for 5 to 6 months, while the other part is aged in stainless steel tanks, preserving freshness and aromatic purity.
Grape variety
This Meursault Village 2023 de Louis Latour is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
