Nose
The aromatic bouquet is rich and remarkably intense, dominated by notes of black fruits such as blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry. It is enriched with subtle touches of sweet spices, blond tobacco and a hint of cedar, reflecting a perfectly integrated ageing process.
Palate
Full-bodied and velvety, the palate offers a dense structure supported by remarkably fine tannins. The balance is remarkable, combining beautiful fruit richness with a refreshing saline touch, extending into a long, persistent and delicately spiced finish.
Food and wine pairing
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with flavourful red meats, slow-cooked dishes in sauce, or roasted poultry. It will also enhance semi-hard cheeses and dishes with Mediterranean accents.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate Orma 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of around 18°C, taking care to let it breathe beforehand. With its solid structure, this wine has excellent ageing potential, allowing it to evolve gracefully over the years.
The elegance of a great Italian red wine by Orma
The estate
Founded in 2004 by Antonio Moretti Cuseri, the Orma estate quickly established itself as a benchmark reference on the Tuscan coast. Located in the heart of the prestigious Bolgheri region, this discreet property spans a vineyard of 5.5 to 7.5 hectares, nestled among illustrious neighbours. Driven by the desire to leave a unique mark, the Moretti Cuseri family has successfully brought this label to the very top, producing wines of great precision that reflect all the excellence and richness of this exceptional terroir.
The vineyard
Ideally located north of the famous wine route, this terroir in Tuscany benefits from an exceptional microclimate influenced by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vines grow at low altitude on soils of marine origin, composed of clay, gravel and a little sand. This soil structure ensures optimal drainage while retaining an essential water reserve. Sea breezes and the alternation of daytime and night-time temperatures encourage the slow, perfect ripening of the grapes, cultivated with respect for the environment.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes destined for Orma 2024 undergo meticulous winemaking. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 26 and 28°C, accompanied by skin maceration of around twenty-one days for optimal, controlled extraction. The wine then benefits from careful ageing for twelve months in French oak barrels, some of them new, before resting for a further year in bottle to perfect its harmony prior to release.
Grape varieties
