Founded in 1977, Grattamacco is nestled in lush greenery enjoying a dazzling panoramic view of the coast from its prime location on the top of the hills between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri in the beautiful Tuscany region in Italy. The dry climate of the region receives a maritime influence from the Tyrrhenian Sea that offers the best conditions for making great wines. The ColleMassari Group has owned the estate since 2002, and Grattamacco has earned its reputation through distinguishing itself with its vintage wines. Being true to the traditions of the great Bolgheri wines, the Grattamacco vintages are made with the utmost respect for the terroir with priority given to the Bordeaux grape varieties that have given these wines an exceptional reputation. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc stand out in the blends alongside Sangiovese, the excellent Tuscan traditional variety.
