Since the 1970s, François Mitjavile has embodied a unique and unconventional vision of Bordeaux wine, founded on a deeply artisanal and intuitive approach. This philosophy, carried on today by his sons, rests on a constant questioning of established conventions and a tireless quest for authenticity.

Le Tertre Rotebœuf, the cradle of this family adventure, nestles in the heart of Saint-Émilion, on the edge of a hillside, on a rocky outcrop with steep slopes. Its vineyard, which extends over some 6 hectares, reveals an exceptional terroir giving birth to voluptuous wines of remarkable smoothness and fine ageing potential.

Over time, the Mitjavile Family has extended its estate to four exceptional crus: Tertre Rotebœuf (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru), Château Roc de Cambes (Côtes de Bourg), Domaine de Cambes (Bordeaux) and Domaine de l'Aurage (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux). Creators of iconic wines, eagerly sought after by connoisseurs for their rare elegance and exclusivity, the Mitjaviles nevertheless cultivate discretion.

This shared philosophy is built on four fundamental pillars: the excellence of the terroir, with rare clay-limestone hillside microclimates; the celebration of the vintage, the family having renounced producing top cuvées and second wines to allow each bottle to reflect the unique character of the year; aromatic refinement, offering an expressive structure of great intensity, full of grace, freshness and digestibility; and finally the ageing capacity, producing wines that are delicious from their youth, which mature beautifully over three to four decades.

Produced in very limited quantities, these wines seduce discerning enthusiasts with their inimitable and timeless style.
