The Authentic Expression of a Burgundy Terroir by Remoissenet Père et Fils
The Estate
Founded in 1877 in the heart of Beaune, the house of Remoissenet Père et Fils is a historic institution of Burgundy. Housed in fourteenth-century buildings, it has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 2005 by American investor Edward L. Milstein, its current majority owner. Now led by a team of experts, including winemaker Claudie Jobard, the estate oversees around thirty hectares of vineyards cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The estate is particularly renowned for its precise wines and its impressive collection of old vintages.
The Vineyard
The climat "Les Teurons" is one of the largest parcels among the Beaune Premiers Crus. Ideally situated in the centre of the slope with a southeast exposure, this terroir takes its name from the small limestone stones that make it up. The vines flourish on heterogeneous soils, blending clay, limestone and sand, giving the grapes a distinctive minerality. The vineyard is managed according to biodynamic principles, with a high planting density favouring qualitative concentration in the berries.
The Vintage
The year 2022 was marked by significant climatic contrasts. After a harsh winter affected by frost and hail, spring proved particularly warm and mild, encouraging rapid vine development. These summer conditions allowed for accelerated ripening of the berries at the end of the season, resulting in impeccable health at harvest, which began in late September.
Winemaking and Aging
The hand-harvested grapes undergo careful sorting on three separate tables. The winemaking of the Beaune 1er Cru "Les Teurons" 2022 takes place traditionally in open wooden vats over three weeks. The wine is then aged for 18 to 20 months in 350-litre French oak barrels, incorporating a measured proportion of new oak to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
