Laphroaig: an icon of Islay
Founded in 1815 on the island of Islay in Scotland, the Laphroaig distillery is one of the greatest symbols of Scottish whisky. Located on the southern coast of this legendary island, it benefits from a unique environment where sea winds, abundant peat bogs and pure water combine to create whiskies with a distinctive personality.
Laphroaig stands out for its attachment to tradition and ancestral know-how. For over two centuries, the distillery has upheld artisanal techniques that impart its whiskies with inimitable smoky and peaty aromas. It is this unique signature that has made Laphroaig an essential reference worldwide, offering expressions that delight both novices and the most discerning connoisseurs alike.
Quarter Cask: a rich and flavorful whisky
Introduced in 2004, the Laphroaig Quarter Cask undergoes partial maturation in small oak casks that previously held bourbon, with a reduced capacity ranging between 50 and 80 liters. These casks, nicknamed "quarter casks" in Anglo-Saxon tradition, promote a more intense interaction between the wood and the whisky.
