Food and Wine Pairings
This white wine pairs beautifully with delicate dishes such as scallop or salmon tartare, as well as fish such as hake served with a beurre blanc sauce. It will also enhance shellfish and crustaceans, as well as white meats and poultry served with a creamy sauce.
Serving and Cellaring
With its fine structure, this 2025 vintage has an ageing potential of a few years, allowing it to develop its full complexity over time.

The Estate
Founded in 1990 by Jean-Marie Guffens and his wife Maine Heynen, Verget is a leading name in Burgundy, based in Sologny. Still run today by Jean-Marie Guffens, alongside cellar master Julien Desplans, the house stands out for its original négociant model: the exclusive purchase of grapes. This approach allows complete control over the winemaking. The house is renowned for revealing often underestimated terroirs, producing wines that combine tension, minerality and great ageing potential.
The Vineyard
The Mâcon-Bussières "Vignes de Montbrison" cuvée comes from a specific terroir on the border between the villages of Bussières and Vergisson, at the gateway to the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The vines, averaging around forty years of age, are managed using sustainable viticulture. They thrive on a very stony, west-facing slope with clay-limestone soils. This geographical and geological setting promotes optimal ripening of the grapes while preserving the natural freshness of this Burgundy wine.
Winemaking and Ageing
Continuing in the tradition of previous vintages, this wine is crafted according to the house's rigorous standards. The estate's philosophy traditionally favours meticulous vinification and barrel ageing to enhance the wine's texture and tension.
