A fresh, well-structured Côtes de Provence rosé wine
The estate
The Château Sainte Roseline is an estate steeped in history. In Provence, it enjoys an ideal location, about thirty minutes from the Bay of Saint-Tropez, the Croisette in Cannes, as well as the Gorges du Verdon and Aix-en-Provence. It is on this millennial terroir that its wines, Cru Classé Côtes de Provence, express themselves with harmony. In 1994, Bernard Teillaud took over the estate with the ambition of making it one of the leading names in southern viticulture. In 2007, his daughter Aurélie Bertin Teillaud succeeded him, with the aim of revealing a distinct and authentic personality for each wine.
The vineyard
Set on clay-limestone soils, the 110-hectare vineyard of Château Sainte Roseline produces great Côtes de Provence wines. It benefits from a deep water source, allowing controlled water supply to the vines. The 11 grape varieties planted on the estate have thus held Cru Classé status since 1995. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture.
The wine
Produced since 1950, the Cuvée Lampe de Méduse from Château Sainte Roseline has become the estate’s historic and emblematic cuvée. At the heart of the estate’s production, it is notably recognized by its uniquely shaped bottle, originally designed by the Baronne de Rasque de Laval, wife of the former owner of this Provençal estate.
Winemaking and aging
Harvested at night, the grapes are carefully sorted and then destemmed before being transferred by gravity into stainless steel tanks to preserve the full quality of the harvest. The musts are held in cold stabilization for 5 to 10 days before clarification. The clear juices then undergo temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation lasting around 10 days. Aging on lees in tanks is complemented by regular stirring.
Blend
The Cuvée Lampe de Méduse 2025 from Château Sainte Roseline is a blend of grenache, cinsault, mourvèdre, tibouren, syrah, carignan, caladoc, and rolle.
