Decanter

The old-vine Puligny premier cru from Chartron in 2021 is exclusively Hameau de Blagny near the top of the slope. Usually there are also grapes from Folatières, Pucelles, and Cailleret, but not in 2021. These vines were planted in 1953 and deliver a wine of impressive ripeness and density with an apricot and quince fruit character accented with hints of smoke and butter. Despite the relatively light colour, the richness continues to delight on the palate, leading the wine to a lingering finish.
